State Of The Nation Starts Screening On Etv Ghana

Accra, 12th April, 2012: Started About three weeks ago, State Of The Nation, an interactive political talk show, has been introduced by Etv Ghana. In the spirit of ensuring a peaceful political atmosphere, ETV Ghana’s addition to its range of programmes, seeks to offer an objective position to issues of national concern.

“We aim to promote effective dialogue between the various political parties in Ghana as well and the general public. The recent poor communication among political parties on our airwaves do not augur well for any political situation. State of the Nation was therefore introduced as Etv Ghana’s contribution to promoting responsible communication in this election year”, JOT Agyeman, the station Manager of Etv Ghana and host of the show noted.

State of the Nation is looks at the dynamics of politics in relation to issues of National Interest; challenges, way forward as well as healthy examples from case studies in other countries in an outside Africa. It is tailored to address pertinent issues that arise on Ghana’s political landscape in the course of the year leading up to the presidential and parliamentary elections in December.

Showing every Wednesday from 9:00pm, the programme draws on credible resource persons from the various political divides, as well as neutral persons, to present an objective view of issues at stake.

Political Talk shows have become quite popular in Ghana in recent years. They have given rise to awareness and have contributed in several ways to changing the political scenario of the country. State of the Nation takes the political talk show a notch higher under the tactful steering of JOT Agyeman, one of Ghana’s finest television talk show hosts.
