Via Praises, Mama, and Suit & Tie (all off his latest album Epistles of Mama, the man of the night Stonebwoy lunged into an emotional first set of performances at this year’s BHIM Nation Concert currently ongoing at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Dapper in black and white, the singer blessed the crowd (which has been standing since he emerged onstage with Savage. Ghana’s first Grammy nominee Rocky Dawuni joined Stonebwoy for the performance of that particular song to rousing cheers.
Gbedegbede, We Bad, Run Go among other loved reggae records from the act are still currently being dished out at the concert held in honour of his fourth solo project.
In attendance are ZYLOFON boss Nana Appiah, EIB CEO Bola Ray, former Black Stars skipper Stephen Appiah among other top personalities.Funny man DKB and Elikem “The Tailor” are MCs for the night.
Epistles of Mama, jointly published by ZYLOFON Music and the artist’s own BMG imprint, consists 24 songs and features a flavoursome array of local and international heavyweights as Sean Paul, Chronixx, Sarkodie, Pressure, I Octane, Efya, Vanessa Bling, Joey B, Kabaka Pyramid all feature on the double CD project: one half dedicated to Afrobeats, and the other, reggae/dancehall.
The album follows other well-received projects as Grade 1, Necessary Evil, and Livingstone. A tribute to mother Catherine Satekla who passed in 2015, EOM joins a list of top GH acts to drop projects this year; others including Sarkodie, EL, and Becca, Trigmatic, MzVee, and Ebony.
