Stonebwoy reps Ghana at AUC-AFRIMA Conference in Banjul

Ghanaian Afropop, dancehall, reggae artiste and CEO of Burniton Music Group, Livingstone Etse Satekla well known by his stage name Stonebwoy on Tuesday May 25, 2016, solely represented Ghana at the AUC-AFRIMA Conference put together by The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in partnership with African Union Commission in Banjul, Gambia.

The conference which was well attended by music professionals, creative/cultural industry experts and practitioners; award winning recording artists and media practitioners among others saw a robust and intellectual session on the theme “Using Music, Culture and Entertainment as tools for a new Africa.”

The theme later triggered discussions into how to engage the shared African values and the spirit of Pan Africanism for greater collaborations in culture and music for sustainable development in line with the AU cultural agenda for peace building, integration, democracy, economic advancement and youth social development.

Stonebwoy who was invited to speak on “Harnessing the economic power of culture and music in Africa: the role of the stakeholders” also shared his experience as an artist and how best stake holders could all help to the benefit of Africa as a continent.

Also present were Stanley Enow (Cameroon), Ahmed Sultan (Morocco) and Adekunle Gold (Nigeria).

The conference which was to commemorate the 10th African Union Youth Charter also saw the unveiling of calendar for the 2016 All Africa Music Awards tagged AFRIMA 3.0.
