Zylofon Media signee, Stonebwoy is set to release a 'double album' titled ‘Epistles of Mama’ this December.
The album which has 24 songs, 12 reggae and 12 afro beat songs on each side will be released on December 12 and launched on December 22nd at the ‘Bhim’ Nation Concert.
At a press briefing in Accra, Stonebwoy said having 12 reggae songs on the album was deliberate because he wanted to show how versatile he can be.
According to the BET award nominee, the album is dedicated to his late mother and all mothers who are sacrificing for their family.
“I dedicated this album to my mum because I still hear her voice in my head, everything she said will happen is actually happening to me, its unfortunate I lost her two years ago, she should have been alive to enjoy the fruits of her labour,” he said.
The “Epistle of Mama” features international acts like Sean Paul, Agent Sasco and Kelvin boy on the reggae side and Burna boy, Sarkodie, Efya, Kofi Kinaata and Joey B on the afro beats side.
According to Stonebwoy, it took him two years to come out with the album and that explains the amount of energy and time he invested in the work.
“It took me two years because I had to take my time, study the market and do a perfect work,’ he disclosed.
Stonebwoy who has been nominated for the 2018 Reggae group of the year at the Grammy's with Morgan Heritage said; “I’m aiming at winning the Grammy’s as reggae artist of the year and probably reggae album of the year with this album and so I’m hoping the fans will love it and blow it up,” he said.
Stonebwoy is the first African Musician to have 24 songs on one album.
