Rapper Sarkodie with Wife Tracy
Multiple award-winning rapper Michael Owusu Addo alias Sarkodie has asked Ghanaians to desist from forcing entertainers who are not yet married to settle down.
Obidi as he is affectionately called believes marriage is not meant for all individuals so the public figures who are not wedded have a good reason for their current relationship status. Speaking to Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, Sarkodie opined that “I don’t think it (marriage) is for everybody.”
To the ‘Adonai’ hitmaker, his fellow entertainers should not be pressured because others are getting partners. The BET award-winner during the conversation zionfelix.net monitored further disclosed that some individuals cannot remain happy after marriage so he believes such people should be allowed to live their single life.
“I don’t think it (marriage) is for everybody. If you can function and you are okay, that is fine. You have to do it based on how you feel. You are not suppose to be pressured because whoever got married so you think you are under pressure to also do same. Some people don’t function well when they are asked to stand at one place. I can function with that act so I did it for me and how I see life and how I want to live. So it (marriage) is not for everybody. So you guys should stop putting pressure on people. Tracy and I have been there for a very long time."
Sarkodie married his baby mama Tracy on July 19 this year at a strictly by invitation wedding. Many have asked his colleagues in the music industry to follow his steps and one of such persons is Shatta Wale.
Aside Sarkodie who married in 2018, John Dumelo, Becca, Bibi Bright and other entertainers also had a life partner this year.
