Student Nurses hold beauty pageant

Bolgatanga, June 21, GNA- Miss Michelle Naana Mills Robertson, a twenty-year-old student of the Bawku Presbyterian Nurses Training College was at the weekend crowned the Beauty Queen of Student Nurses in the Upper East Region.

She was selected from six other contestants at a ceremony in Bolgatanga to round off activities for this year's Nurses Week celebration in the region.


The first and second runners-up were Miss. Ester Ali and Miss Dorcas Atanga, both from the Bolgatanga NTC.


The contestants for the event were from the Bolgatanga and Bawku Presbyterian Nurses Training Colleges, and the Navrongo Community Health Nurses School, with sponsorship from the Ghana Breweries Limited (GBL). The Beauty Queen took home as her prize a Ghetto Blaster, while the first and second runners-up received a Standing Fan and four-burner gas cooker respectively. The other participants had GBL products as consolation prizes.

Mr. Samuel Abato, Regional Sales Representative of GBL, who addressed the gathering said his outfit was not only interested in making profits, but ensures that its customers were satisfied with the company's products.


He commended the people of the region for remaining loyal to the company's products, adding, "we are proud of you all for keeping faith with us, and continuously patronizing our products".


He expressed the hope that the bond of friendship and loyalty between them and the company would continue to improve Other activities organized for the weeklong celebration included symposium, clean-up exercised and fun games.
