I can't disclose money bagged during ‘Amakye & Dede’ premiere - Producer

Producer of the highly publicised ‘Amakye & Dede’ movie Kofi Asamoah of Kofas Media has stated that it will be premature to disclose the amount of money bagged during the most attended premier.

Industry players believe the producer is likely to reap huge amount of money compared to his colleagues who have also premiered their movies in the Silverbird cinemas in Accra.

The comedy movie made history as the biggest movie premiere at the Silverbird cinemas on Easter Saturday, March 26, 2016.

Management of Silverbird cinemas declared the premier of the movie as the most attended ever at the Accra and West Hills Malls respectively.

Movie lovers turned up in their numbers to the two cinemas to watch ‘Amakye & Dede movie which has cast such as Majid Michel, Kalybos, John Dumelo, Roselyn Ngissah, Emelia Brobbey, Kobi Rana, Yaw Dabo, Ahuofe Patricia, Grace Nortey and others.

Asked on Peace FM Entertainment Review hosted by Kwasi Aboagye, the money accrued from the premier, Asamoah indicated that he will be able to mention the amount after series of showings across the country.

‘Am sure after the sale of the targeted CDs on the market within a particular period, we will announce the money we generated from the movie, for now it’s too early to mention what we have now. We cannot base on the premier alone to say that we have really made profit as against our estimated target,’ he explained.

He expressed appreciation to Ghanaians especially movie lovers, media and cast of the movie for their support.

‘Let hear feedback from you, we only hope to get better, criticisms are welcomed,’ he told movie lovers.
