“Support female musicians”

One of Ghana's fastest rising female rappers in recent times, Eno, in an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Vision 90.9FM in Koforidua, has appealed to bigwigs in the entertainment industry to lend female musicians a hand when they need it.

Speaking on the issue of whether or not female rappers in Ghana have any future and can compete their male counterparts, she replied in the affirmative but added that they needed more support to achieve that.

"Of course, some of us can rap better than most of the guys. I believe I am talented and I know a lot of other good female rappers like those you heard on the GH Female Cypher but what makes it difficult for us to rise faster is the fact that people see the game as a men's game and so are unwilling to help,” she said.

Adding, “there is also the problem of some men trying to sleep with you before they offer any assistance but if you are a hard girl like me, you won't give in. When you keep working harder, God would give you a helper someday.”

Eno together with some seven female rappers including Abena, Milla, Porche, Scratch, Xcot, Eyirap and Esbee have been put together in a cypher called Radio produced by Mix Masta Garzy.

The song is one that has these ladies spitting hardcore lyrics as any of the guys would do on their tracks. Of course, the music industry has had female rappers like Abrewa Nana, Tripple M, Maudy M and currently Eazzy, Itz Tiffany and the likes but this new crop of female rappers is dope.

By benefit of hindsight, one would just pray that these ladies would not vanish from the system soon but would brave all odds to go higher and stay longer than their predecessors.
