Highlife musician, Kwaisey Pee, has told Prince Kwesi Dadzie aka Mr Handsome, host of Away Bus on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that; it is currently not easy to make money from music.
The celebrated musician with over 25 years of experience in the industry said, it is becoming extremely difficult for musicians to make money without shows.
The only avenue where musicians are able to make money is through shows but if you are not getting the opportunity to play at shows, then you can tell the difficulty musicians go through, he added.
He told the host the passion he has for music has kept him going but there are some who have given up due to the challenges confronting the industry today.
When asked if he struggles to get shows to play, the musician said, ‘’not really but it doesn’t come often like when I have hit songs.
He has therefore planned to release more songs in order for him to get more shows to play.
Promoting songs today he noted has become much easier because of the use of technology.
He said, the use of technology has influenced the promotion of songs and social media followers get the opportunity to listen to latest songs of their favourite artistes through social but was quick to add that, 80% of the successful promotion of songs traditionally depend on DJs and musicians would not be able to succeed without DJs.
