In a society where we think whatever the elderly does is better as compared to that of the young, it is interesting to hear that a younger chap’s work is openly chosen and declared wiser than that of the elderly by another elderly person in public.
Willi Roi, a sound engineer and producer, Today – Tuesday morning on Pluzz FM, declared Kofi Kinaata’s “Susuka” tune better and wiser than Nicholas Omane Acheampong's “Aposor”.
Interestingly, both songs won awards at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Aposor won gospel song of the year and Susuka won Record of the year.
As to why he would choose Susuka over Aposor, Willi Roi explained that the content of Susuka is wiser, deeper and carries more inspiration.
According to him, Aposor is theologically, nonsense.” 'Aposor' talks about someone holding your destiny. Meanwhile, nobody can hold your destiny. That is absolute nonsense” he said boldly.
It is however, unclear how Nicholas Omane Acheampong is going to take this pronouncement from Roi when the song being talked about was voted by Ghanaians as the gospel song of the year.
