Controversial Ghanaian musician Sydney Barima, whose name came up as one of the artistes to perform at the inauguration of President Buhari of Nigeria, has released a song to pay tribute to victims of Wednesday June 3 disaster.
The artiste known for recording songs on topical issues in Ghana and Africa, joins Ghanaians to mourn flood victims in a release dubbed ‘Black Wednesday’.
He uses this opportunity to advise Ghanaians to clear gutters chocked with filth in vicinities and quit waiting till they are hit by its effects like the recent catastrophe in Accra. “Ghana belongs to you and me…” he chorused in this song as he urged authorities to enforce sanitary laws governing the city.
He consoles Ghanaians for the loss of lives and properties in touching words as communicated via the lyrics of ‘Black Wednesday’ that says ‘Yeti nisuo, yetwa adwadwoo.. .Wukuada Tuntum, na y’a ye wo den nie’ which means “we shed tears, we wail, Black Wednesday what did we do to you’.
