Barely a month after we unveiled our morning show This Morning the programme has attracted a lot of attention, making it one of the most talked about morning shows in Ghana.
The event, which had originally been scheduled for an earlier date, had to be postponed after the untimely death of late President Mills, out of respect for the family.
The launch was witnessed by clients of Viasat1 and prospects, the hosts - Kokui Selormey and Patrice Amegashie, the CEO of Modern African Productions - the production house, as well as journalists and staff of the station.
According to the CEO of Viasat1, Charlotte Gustavsson, the hosts of the morning show make a fantastic pair.
“The concept and structure of the show, in conjunction with the chemistry and warmth that Kokui and Patrice brings, really makes the programme stand out among other morning shows in the market today” says CEO Charlotte Gustavsson.
Patrice Amegashie disclosed that even though he is the shy type, the platform to host This Morning on Viasat1 has impacted positively on his life. Coming from a radio broadcasting background, Patrice says each day on set of This Morning brings a new sense of fresh air.
Kokui, who agreed with her colleague, added that she has learned a lot and has been on top of issues since the first day of the show. She commended the production team for their excellent supervision and also to the wonderful guests who have graced the show so far.
Over the first month, notable people such as Kwesi Pratt Jr., Egbert Faible, Ato Cudjoe, Felix Klutse, Yoofi Grant, Prince Kofi Amoabeng, Sammy Awuku, and James Agyenim Boateng, Bola Ray, Sammy Bartels, Ben Brako, Dr. Love and wife, Ace Ankomah, Dr. Lloyd Amoah, and recently KKD.
This Morning premiered on Monday August 6, 2012 and it is a two-hour live breakfast show that airs from Mondays to Thursdays between 7am and 9am. The show is divided into two parts; the first hour keeps viewers updated with current affairs, live news updates and traffic reports, whilst the second hour focuses on softer, yet important issues such as relationships, family life and health.
Monday’s theme “Great expectations” which focuses on family and parenting takes a look at building oneself and taking the family to the next level.
On Tuesdays, viewers get to engage doctors with questions relating to their health and well-being on the theme “Ask the Doctor”.
It is all “Domestic Affairs” on Wednesdays and the focal point is on home décors, relationships and happy lifestyles. The week winds down on a lighter and entertaining note on Thursdays with the “Weekend Calendar”. The theme enlightens viewers of what to expect over the weekend in regards to where to hang out, where to party, events happening in town, and many more.
