Come this Sunday, February 6, 2011, 4pm, the National Theatre will witness the staging of another grand spectacle in the series of Evolution concerts with this year’s dubbed the Topaz edidition; a four (4)-hour gospel concert which will feature Ghana’s finest and anointed music ministers such as Danny Nettey, Pst. Helen Yawson (of KICC), Cynthia (Daughters of Glorious Jesus), Nii Okai, Teddy (Kings Jubilee), Eugene Zuta, Cwasi Oteng, Joe Mettle, Calvis Hammond (Joyful Way Inc) and Pastor David collaborating with arguably Ghana’s best youthful gospel music group, Impact Project, in a what promises to be a heavenly encounter.
Impact Project Ministry as a youthful music group has carved a niche that distinguishes it as ministry-oriented group identified with excellence in music (technically and spiritually), strong passion for evangelism and a soft spot for social causes to help the needy. The group comprises music geniuses mainly from the tertiary institutions in the country who have all come under one umbrella bonded by the love for evangelism which they relay in their creatively written and arranged music.
Their unique music style which incorporates crossover contemporary elements with African rhythms and the constant quest to provide the best in live ministrations make a strong case for the quality expected from gospel groups. This is why fans are always upbeat about the ministry’s Evolution concerts particularly this year’s in the ministry’s night year of existence.
Speaking to Nina Erryck, a member of the publicity team for Evolution 6, she related that, ‘2011 marks our 9th year in ministry and when you infer from the bible, the number 9 means the closure of a chapter and the entry into a new dimension. Therefore to us this year marks the closure of a chapter and entry into a new dimension for our ministry. Fortunately, this year also happens to be the 6th year of our annual evolution concert and the number 6 represents man’s glory which in this case refers to the glory of God to be bestowed upon this year’s event.’
‘Therefore combining the two biblical inferences, we came up with a concept for Evolution 6 which we tag as the Topaz Edition (Topaz is the mineral that represented the ninth layer of the foundation of the New Jerusalem and also doubled as the reminiscent of the beauty and splendour of God’s people in the bible). Evolution 6’s Topaz edition this Sunday at the National Theatre will line up 11 of Ghana’s finest and anointed music ministers collaborating on stage with us, Impact Project, to lift up a sweet fragrance of worship to God. A greater percentage of proceeds generated from the concert will be channelled towards the awareness, education and correction of dyslexia, a learning disorder among children and for this we have partnered a dyslexic school known as U2Kan in Adabraka,’ Nina added.
Tickets for the concert are be available at Sunny FM (Kanda), Citi FM (Adabraka), Sweet Melodies FM (North Kaneshie) and National Theatre for GHc 10.00. There is currently, however, a special discount being offered to groups or choirs with a minimum membership of 15 people.
