...dashes to the loo after intense grilling

...commission members unruffled by his sheer bravado

He huffed and puffed and sometimes gave cheeky answers to questions posed to him, but in the end, the Chief Executive Officer of the now infamous Ghana @50 secretariat, Dr. Charles Yves Wereko-Brobbey had to dash to the loo to relieve himself soon after the Chairman of the three-member Presidential Commission enquiring into how Ghana's money was used for the celebrations brought proceedings to an end for the day.

It was the first day of a scheduled three-day hearing with Wereko Brobbey, affectionately called Tarzan as Principal witness. Fielding questions from the commission's lawyers and each of the members of the commission, the Presidential Candidate of the United Ghana Movement in the 2000 election chose to be verbose obviously to create the impression that his handling of Ghana's money for the 50th anniversary celebration of the country was above board. Sometimes, he chose to play to the galery

The scorn in his voice was obvious. At one stage, he tried to create the impression that the commission was an inquisition. He told the commission members that he deserved to be applauded not condemned and gave answers that was meant to make the commission's members look stupid.. However, at the end, it was Tarzan who was humbled; at several junctures, he had to eat humble pie, and by the time the commission brought proceedings to a close for the day, it was clear that he had lose it.

What new tactics Tarzan would adopt on day two of his hearing is left to be seen today.
