The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi is undergoing investigations over some comments he made in a yet-to-be-aired documentary by ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service, acting on an order by President Akufo-Addo are probing the GFA President for allegedly defrauding by false pretences.
Teacher Kwadwo is a Ghanaian comedienne who has gained popularity for funny skits he posts on social media. In his latest episode, Teacher Kwadwo is supposedly interviewing Kwesi Nyantakyi over the comments he is alleged to have made in the documentary which focus on corruption in Ghana football.
Teacher Kwadwo in a humorous manner asks the CAF vice president if he indeed said that the President is in his pocket as it is being speculated.
Did Nyantakyi make those comments
Commentaries from people who claim they have watched snippets of the investigative piece have it that Kwesi Nyantakyi stated that ‘he has the president in his pocket’ and can facilitate meetings between the President and businessmen he met in Morocco.
However, mentor of Anas and editor of Crusading Guide newspaper, Kweku Baako has debunked claims that embattled GFA president made those comments.
Speaking on Accra-based Joy FM’s news analysis programme, Newsfile on Saturday, 26th May, 2017 Kweku Baako said the phrase may have been the interpretation of the few privileged viewers of what Mr. Nyantakyi said.
“Some of the investigators have had the opportunity to watch it, but there is an agreement to make a package to be presented to them. They do not have it. Apart from those who have officially been given the opportunity to watch it, no one has watched it,” he stressed.
