Former president of Actors Guild, Fred Amugi on the Celebrity night show with Eddy Blay Junior has stated that the work of D.P.O’s and Director’s have been made easy by the introduction of modern technology

Fred Amugi asserted that there has been a great improvement in the Ghanaian movie industry due to technological advancement.

The veteran actor revealed that, before he plays a role in any movie, he seeks for professional advice. During his reign as the president of Actors Guild bridging the gap between the glamour and Kumawood actors was one of his greatest achievements

“I had the chance to break the rivalry between the local language speaking actors and the English speaking actors by forming a guild in Kumasi for the local actors who mostly work with Kofi Nyametse when I was the Actors Guild president”, he said.

According to him, he has witnessed at a conference where the Israeli president complained about a similar issue, where English speaking actors refuse to merge with the local language speaking actors in Israel.

He also stated that, due to lack of good technical know-how in the industry, David Dontoh terms the vernacular movies as “Tomatoes movies” because they don’t last long to meet consumers demand, he explained.

He then added that, the fortunate thing in the industry is that age doesn’t matter; even if one is a clot of blood in the womb of a woman there is an opportunity to play a role in the movie.
