The entertainment industry just received another good news from a team that is comparatively new in the field of awards, and they promise a fresh awards scheme to be called Television Awards Ghana(T.A.G).
It is no secret that most awards events are trusted based on the people who form the board or committee for the organization, and if that is anything to go by, then one would assume that the organizers of TAG awards ShowTime Television are here to stay.
We at Flex newspaper have the faith that the organizers know the task ahead and are prepared to build a strong foundation for a successful awards scheme.
Going through the brains behind the awards scheme, it was so refreshing to note that all the big names in television and production in this country were represented on it. Again, the list there can boast of enough experience in the field of the audiovisual world.
Even to ensure fair and transparency as to how activities should be coordinated, representatives from all television stations are adequately represented on the FACULTY (the name of the board).
This practice alone gives us some assurance that, all things being equal, there will be some transparency at the end of the awards. It is in the wake of some of these observations that questions of competition are being raised comparing Radio and Television Personality Awards (RTP) and Television Awards Ghana (TAG).
In this seeming competition, project manager of the awards scheme Gideon Kwamla Ohiadzo aka Jingles has confirmed to Flex newspaper that they do not have any intention of competing RTP Awards.
Finally, the awards look good on paper but let`s wait to see how the execution will go!!!
