The annual Citi FM Music of Ghanaian Origin (MOGO) Festival is set to take over Ghana from Saturday March 21 to 28 with a series of events to celebrate authentic music of Ghanaian origin.
Some of the best music moments would occur during the festival with the biggest names in authentic indigenous Ghanaian music lined up to perform throughout the week. The MOGO Festival begins with the Accra Music Expo at Mantse Agbonaa on Saturday March 21, with some of the best indigenous Ga bands and musicians as well as a hotly contested ‘Jama’ Competition.
The Accra Music Expo would be a huge open air party with the likes of Tinny, Adane Best, Dzajeloi and a host of others taking their turn to thrill patrons at Mantse Agbonaa - Jamestown. On Sunday March 22, ten deceased musicians would be remembered and honored at a special MOGO Memorial Service.
The event is to immortalize the musicians and honor them for their contributions to Ghanaian music. Songs composed by one of Ghana's short-lived musicians Terry Bonchaka will feature prominently.
