The Voice That Reaches Heaven?Kofi Odoom Booms

Mon, 26 Jun 2006 Source: ghanamusic.com

One out of probably every 1,000,000 voices that sing in praise of God has a direct connection to heaven. It all depends on the quality of the voice, the resonance and amplitude and above all the born-again status of the singer.

Elder Kofi Odoom certainly has a connection to the Most High. His voice has an attribute not found in any other voice in town.

From the depths of his entire being, Kofi Odoom literally amplifies the microphone with vocal power and not by any electronic manipulation. The voice booms with power and grace.

The gift of voice as experience in the singing ministry of Kofi Odoom, is an extraordinary offer that is certainly going to send this humble servant of God to places. No doubt about it!

Having recognised this gift early though, he has registered his appreciation in his debut album titled-tracked. ?Awurade Ne Menkwagye? (The Lord is My Redeemer).

Side A explodes with the title-track before ginving way to ?Wahwe Yenso?, ?Yen Nyankopon? and ?We Thank You?. Side B has ?Asase Nyinaa?, ?Yesu Agye Yenkwa?, ?Wokyen Won Nyinaa? and ?Be Born Again?.

The praise and worship tracks (which will be reviewed later) give vent to the liberation of Odoom?s voice. Combining beautifully with Afia Gyamfua?s soul-touching overtones, the final output is mind-blowing.

Those deserve special mention include Dan Bassey (Keyboards), Gladys Amponsah, Nii Abetey Mensah, Cynthia Aku-Keh, Frank Kessie and Adwoa Brako.
