According to an Instagram post by Ebony Films head, Mo Abudu, The Wedding Party now holds the record for the biggest weekend opening for a Nigerian movie after making N36m in cinemas across Nigeria.
The widely-anticipated film, The Wedding Party finally opened in Nigerian cinemas on Friday, December 16, 2016.
Directed by Kemi Adetiba, the romantic comedy follows the shenanigans that go on during the planning of a wedding in Nigeria.
In the film, Dunni, a 24-year-old art gallery owner and only daughter of her parents, Engineer Bamidele and Mrs Tinuade Coker, is about to marry the love of her life, IT entrepreneur Dozie, the handsome son of Felix and Obianuju Onwuka.
The Wedding Party features a star-studded cast which includes Adesua Etomi, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Banky W, Ireti Doyle, Kunle Idowu, Hafiz Oyetoro, Ali Baba, Sola Sobowale and more.
