Kora All Africa Music Awards Something exciting is brewing in the pot of African music. It will be the biggest showdown of new West African musical talent. And it?s going to happen right here in Ghana. It?s the search for the KORA ?New Artiste of the Year? and is a hot contest featuring artistes from all over West Africa including Coe D?Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Gambia and Sierra Leone.
This new category at the KORA All Music African Music Awards, will, as from this year see a new artiste from the continent emerge to perform live at the Awards night under the ?Most Promising Artiste? category. The KORA representative office in West Africa, Charterhouse, say it is in search of that new artiste that each region in Africa is searching for a musical ambassador to represent them.
So for the West Africa region, an event, built as a TV show in a format like Music Music on TV3, dubbed ?The West African Showdown? has been developed by the power behind most performances in Ghana, Charterhouse, to find that exciting artiste from West Africa. The public will, however, be the judges as there will be voting possibilities to select an appropriate winner.
For Ghana, hiplife artiste will be favoured tasters of that fermented brew, I believe, as they seem the most prolific! But who will it be? The line up will be out soon.
