Legendary Ghanaian rapper, Michael Kwabena Okyere Darko also known as Obrafour, says no individual can claim to be the best rapper in the local music scene in Ghana.
He has however singled out fellow musician, Sarkodie as “the best thing that ever happened to hiplife music.”
In an interview with DJ Perfekt on Kasapa Party Time the talented rapper said: “In Ghana now, there is no best rapper but I still confirm Sarkodie as the best thing that ever happened to hiplife music.”
A respected head in the local music industry, Obrafour continues to enjoy decent respect.
His first album “Pae Mu Ka”, largely shaped the rap music scene in Ghana. He told Perfekt his long hiatus wasn’t deliberate.
“I have stayed out of the music industry for a short time to blend good lyrics that will make a good song, my absence from the industry was not deliberate as others perceive. My comeback to the music arena is also to lend a hand to the forthcoming musicians. Music is dynamic, and as a talented singer you will always opt for changes and new innovations but Obrafour wants to leave traces behind that others can take a clue from.”
