Fast growing Ghanaian actress, Bibi Bright has lamented that there is no unity among film producers, actresses, actors and directors to push the movie industry beyond borders.

The curvaceous actress observed that back biting is a cancer that is destroying the industry as movie makers are not comfortable sharing their problems and ideas with their colleagues.

‘We are all afraid sharing our problems with each other, because you never know who will leak it to the other, there is always tension among us when a producer suggests an actress to play a role in a particular movie and another colleague rejects the idea, the next day, the news will be out there,’ she expressed worry.

According to her, upcoming actresses and actors have been under utilised by movie producers in the country.

Juxtaposing Ghanaian movie industry to Nigerian industry, she intimated that the latter (Alatas) has improved dramatically than the former in terms of the calibre of movie makers they have and the movies they churn out.

She asserted that actresses and actors who are garded A-list in Ghana are just a few, unlike Kumawood or the Nigerian industry.

Bibi indicated that there is a huge vacuum whenever these A-list actresses are not around to be part of a certain movie production.

‘If Agya Koo is not there, Lil win (Kwadwo Nkansah) is there, if Lil win is not around, Kwaku Manu can fill that vacancy, but when it comes to Ghallywood, when Jackie Appiah or Nadia Buari and just a few are not around, there is a problem, but it shouldn’t be so,’ she stated.
