The Vodafone Icons Remix Edition comes to a close on Wednesday and one of the already evicted contestants, Josephine Ansah popularly known as Dolly has granted an exclusive interview to GlammyNews.com about how she got into the competition, what transpired at the Icons House and what is next for her after icons.

The silky-voiced songstress admitted that though she was ready to do music [not through reality shows] but her family actually encouraged her to audition for Vodafone Icons Remix Edition because she initially felt very shy and nervous to be on platforms like that.

"I was just called out of my shell so my family actually motivated me that I have a great voice and I could actually impact people with my voice so I should audition for Vodafone Icons and it worked!," she acknowledged.

"On the day of my audition, my Gosh! I didn't believe myself because there were a lot of people [good singers]. I heard some playing the guitar and singing along with it and it was mind-blowing. When I entered, I just sang and the curtain just opened," she narrated.

"Gena told me I had a great voice, M.anifest was just interested in what I was doing, MsNaa was also excited about it. Initially, I didn't really believe in myself until they believed in me after which I realised that OK so I can really do this; I developed excitement about it and I started to give my all" she added.

The 19-year-old has praised the organisers of the reality show for the platform and has also revealed that her eviction came as a surprise to her.

"Well, I wasn't really expecting the eviction to come my way because I thought I was finding myself through the journey of being the winner of the Vodafone Icons Remix Edition but unfortunately it ended earlier than expected. Though I was a bit disappointed I still feel excited because the reality show has offered me a huge platform and really taught me a lot thanks to the lessons from the Music Directors, Voice Trainers, Choreographer etc." she stated.

Asked whether she will still choose music as a career after her eviction she said she is definitely going into singing.

"I can do a whole lot but singing is actually something I'm passionate about and I really want to do it so Ghana should watch out for Dolly. The journey hasn't ended yet it’s just the beginning so there is more to come out from me," she reiterated.

"I would like to acknowledge Vodafone Ghana for creating a platform where talents can be developed and charged them to continue the good work they are doing. If am to be somebody someday it’s because of Vodafone Icons so I want to say a very big thank you to them and everybody should switch to Vodafone," she quickly added.

"I would also like to thank my fans, family, friends for the support and they shouldn't be disappointed because its [Vodafone Icons Remix] a stepping stone. They should rather be happy that am out and that I was part of this year's edition."

There are loads of good things coming my way and I will make you all proud so they shouldn't give up on me but they should keep the support, love and care coming and I will also give my best.
