Actress Lydia Forson has taken to her twitter handle to appeal to Ghanaians to show their human side in this period in the midst of the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

According to the actress, the people who she thinks will suffer most are the poor and vulnerable, especially when they cannot afford many of the household items needed to sustain them.

She advised that people should not be greedy by buying more than what they really need, or hoard products just to increase the prices later.

She tweeted, “The people who will be hit the hardest should things get out of hand will be the less privileged. So please don’t be greedy and buy more than you need, don’t hoard food, sanitizers and the basics. This period is a test of your humanity, be kind.”

Lydia Forson’s advise comes at the back of prices of hand sanitizers that have skyrocketed following the announcement that Ghana has recorded cases of the coronavirus, with some selling hand sanitizers as high as a hundred and fifty Ghana cedis (Ghc150).

Meanwhile, the president has President Akufo-Addo has banned all public gatherings including conference, workshops, funerals, festivals, political rallies and church activities and related events as part of measures to stop the spread of coronavirus in the country.

The President in a national address on Sunday said the ban will be in force for the next four weeks.

“I have decided in the interest of public safety and the protection of our population to review the public gathering advisories earlier announced as follows. Firstly, all public gatherings including conferences, workshops, funerals, festivals, political rallies, sporting events and religious activities, such as services in churches and mosques, have been suspended for the next four (4) weeks. Private burials are permitted, but with limited numbers, not exceeding twenty-five (25) in attendance,” the President said.
