THE FIFTH edition of Temafest, which was held on December 26 at the Community 8 Number Three Junior High School Park, will be forever remembered as the biggest when compared to that of previous years.

The event attracted over 9,000 people from all walks of life who turned up to reunite with old pals and reminisce about ‘the good old days’.

Adom FM, the event organizers, have been able to transform the affair into a ‘must see’ programme on the entertainment calendar in-and-around Tema.

Temafest is a festival for the family, thus the kids were not left out of the fun as they received numerous gifts from Father Christmas during the event.

Over 25 clubs and identifiable groups who had the opportunity to attend the event participated in various games such as football, volleyball fiesta, tug-of-love, weightlifting, arm wrestling, ludo, table tennis and scrabble.

There were also masquerade parades supported by Saltpond Chinese Masquerade Club, and free eye screening from Jireh Eye Clinic for all participants.

“For us, Temafest is not just for recreation; it creates a platform for the measure of musical trends of the coming year, amplifying the biggest stars to showcase and celebrate their talent”, said the programmes director of Adom FM, Daddy Bosco.

The event brought together some selected outstanding musicians in the country. It witnessed live musical performances from the enigmatic Sarkodie and Kwaw Kese, controversial Obrafour and Obuor, Samini, 4X4, Gifty Osei, sensational Richie, Bradez, Ayigbe Edem, Chemphe, Danso Abiam, Araz, among others.

The Temafest revelers got ‘jiggy’ for the seven hours that the artistes performed and were visibly impressed with the live performances.

One of Ghana’s most enterprising hiplife stars, Sarkodie, during his stage performance took his fans on a journey into the recent past, entertaining them with a good number of his hit songs.

Sarkodie sang and danced as he worked the crowd into frenzy. Another impressive personality during the concert was Samini, who turned up with an exciting rap performance.

The event started early in the morning with Adom FM disc jockeys playing great songs to set the tone, and with intermittent reminders from several Adom FM on-air personalities of the coming of the artistes; there was enough to keep fans anxious.

There were also interesting mixes from the DJs who wowed the crowd till the event came to a close.
