Three killed and 11 others injured in car crash

Kumasi, March 12, GNA - Three people were killed and 11 others sustained serious injuries when a Nissan Urvan mini-bus on which they were traveling had a head-on collision with a vehicle at Mim, near Nkawie, in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District. The deceased were identified as Yaw Adjei, the driver, Agnes Ofori and Akosua Frimpomah, alias "Kotopre." The injured are receiving treatment for cuts and bone fractures at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

Kumasi, March 12, GNA - Three people were killed and 11 others sustained serious injuries when a Nissan Urvan mini-bus on which they were traveling had a head-on collision with a vehicle at Mim, near Nkawie, in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District. The deceased were identified as Yaw Adjei, the driver, Agnes Ofori and Akosua Frimpomah, alias "Kotopre." The injured are receiving treatment for cuts and bone fractures at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). Police Superintendent Maxwell Osie, the Abuakwa District Commander, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the accident happened at about 1030 hours. The mini-bus, he said, was carrying passengers to Kumasi from Nkawie. On reaching a spot at the outskirts of Mim, the driver of a Mercedes Benz truck attempted to overtake another truck ahead of him and thereby ran into the lane of the bus crashing head-on into it. The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at KATH mortuary. Meanwhile, the police have mounted a search for the driver of the Benz truck.
