Thugs attack music promoter in Sagnarigu

Some unknown hoodlums Saturday night attacked a young entrepreneur and music promoter, Mr. Kofi Bahoma in his house located at old airport in the Sagnarigu Municipality of the Northern Region.

The hoodlums destroyed properties and wounded several people in the houses. Two persons who received severe knife wounds are currently responding to treatment at the hospital.

The hoodlums allegedly coming from the Sagnarigu palace also took away motorbikes to the palace.

The incident happened immediately after the launch of new music label by the music promoter christened “Bahoma Nation” and a subsequent signing of an artiste for the label.

Several personalities graced the occasion including the Dagbong Naatia Salifu Shiraz, Chief Diema Naa I Hafix Mohammed Chuggu, Gushegu Saha Naa, Fancy Gadam, Dj Fresh and other business executives.

Misunderstanding broke up between two gangs after the program resulting in some scuffles outside the premises of Mr. Kofi Bahoma and in the midst of the confusion some youth numbering about 6 in a Rambo-style drove an old Nissan Patrol car with registration number GR 5980 E to the gates of the Bahoma Palace, brought out machetes and started beating up people on the scene stabbing two people on the process.

The thugs cogently opened the gates of the house and destroyed tables and chairs used for the event. The thugs’ callout the young music promoter’s name and threaten to burn the house if he refused to come out from his hideout, hitting very hard with the Machetes on his doors and windows. “Bahoma ma ba!, Bahoma ma bani!” meaning where is Bahoma?.

Journalists who were positioned waiting to interview the music promoter, Mr. Kofi Bahoma and some special guests after the event run helter-skelter when the situation got tensed.

Mr. Kofi Bahoma in his lockup room with his family and several guests made a distressed-call to the police and Military, but before the security agencies arrived the Sagnarigu youth had finish their operations and left with some motor bikes.

One of the motor bikes seized by the Sagnarigu youth belongs to a known event camera man, Nana Kwame who was billed to cover the event.

It is however not known the number of motor bikes allegedly seized to the Sagnarigu palace by the Sagnarigu youth.

Mr. Kofi after the incident made a former complain to the Tamale police commander and later slept at unknown location for fear of being victimized by the Sagnarigu thugs.

It is not clear what might have trigger the actions of the Sagnarigu youth however, information gathered by sanannanews24.com suggest that, one of their brothers who attended the event at the Bahoma Palace was allegedly assaulted by one of Mr. Bahoma’s boys thus their brute actions.

Meanwhile, the Regional Police PRO, DSP Yussif Tanko told savannanews24.com that, his attention is yet to be drawn to the attacks on the young businessman, adding that, he will find out from the district police office and communicate later to the news portal.
