Hiplife musician, Tic Tac, has announced a new name as part of rebranding process and revamp of his music career.

According to musician his new name is Tic. “I am just re-branding after some years of using Tic Tac. Tic is for the future. I always say I feel like a new artiste because my desire for doing music feels the same as I started at age 10,” he told Citinewsroom.com in an exclusive interview.

Tic is one of the pioneers of the Hiplife genre. He has been trying hard to revive his career for some time now.

In 2017, Tic expressed his displeasure with Ghanaian music fans who neglect the old or senior artistes when new ones emerge. Born Nana Kwaku Dua, Tic for the past months, has been working hard at making his brand more visible and vibrant than it used to be at the early stages of hiplife when he was at his prime.

He is credited with hit songs like; ‘Kwani Kwani, ‘Philomina,’ ‘Rashida’ and ‘Santrofi’, ‘Pray,’ ‘Pene Mame,’ among others.

Nana Kwaku Okyere Duah aka Tic Tac is an award-winning hiplife musician originally from Kwamo, a suburb in the Ashanti Region in Ghana. Tic Tac began his music career while a secondary school student in Labone Secondary School, now Labone Senior High School in Accra.

He first began performing in 1997 with a group called 'Natty Strangers' along with his best friend Bessem Bikhazi (famously known as Cold Sweat.

After becoming the most eagerly awaited group in Ghana, winning awards at events such as Kidafest, Fun World, Source etc.

Tic Tac later went on to release a self-produced album after Bessem migrated to the UK to train as a Commercial Pilot.

During his early career, Tic Tac modeled his style after his idol Busta Rhymes.
