Cape Coast, Aug. 19, GNA - Millicon Ghana Limited, operators of Tigo communication network, has presented a cash amount of GH¢4,000 as well as assorted drinks and souvenirs to the chiefs and people of the Oguaa Traditional Area, in support of the 93Fetu Afahye" festival.
The gifts were received by the Twafohene, Nana Kow Ackon V, at a ceremony held at Cape Coast.
Mr Eric Appau-Buadi, Tigo's Central Regional Manager, said the company was proud to be associated with the celebration of the festival.
He said the 93Fetu Afahye" provides the platform for the people of Cape Coast to showcase the area's rich culture and unique traditions and that Tigo would continue to support such events.
He said there should be no doubt that these traditional festivals help to promote tourism and this is why they need to be sponsored.
Nana Ackon said they were grateful to the company for the gesture, noting that, it would significantly help to make this year's celebration a big success.
He hoped that the traditional council would ensure that it builds on and strengthens its relationship with Tigo.
