Mobile network operator Tigo has organized a variety of entertainment programmes to welcome freshmen and women of some tertiary institutions to school.

The programmes were climaxed with the Tigo Akwaaba Bash at Bonjour Gardens, Legon. First year students of the University of Ghana, Central University College, Wisconsin International University College and Regent University of Science and Technology, among others, thronged the venue for the event.

Patrons had the opportunity to experience some of Tigo’s solution-based innovative products and services such as Tigo Cash, a domestic cash transfer service that allows users to send money instantly to all mobile networks; Tigo Family Care Insurance, which provides free life insurance cover for every registered Tigo subscriber and one family member of theirs, as well as the network’s high speed internet service.

Students that attended the event enjoyed musical performances from Chase, Iwan and Awal among others. Laugh a Minute’s David Oscar and Foster also provided side-splitting and rib-cracking comedy to entertain the students.

Speaking in a post event interview, Tigo PR and Promotions Coordinator, Titus Tetteh Nanor, noted that “Tigo is a fun brand that seeks to constantly fulfil the aspirations of the youth. According to him, Tigo used events like this to make students sizzle with joy and excitement as they got to know more about Tigo’s products and services.

Mr. Nanor announced that students in other parts of the country must look forward to an unforgettable back to school experience from Tigo.

The programme gave students who attended the opportunity to win fantastic offers such as Blackberry phones, high speed internet modems and branded souvenirs from Tigo. The Akwaaba Bash was organized by Campus Advertizer and sponsored by Tigo.
