Social media influencer, Asantewaa
Ghanaian social media influencer Asantewaa has been trending on social media after a post she made ahead of her birthday.
The TikTok star, in a post on her Instagram page on 30 May, shared a wishlist which included several items she expected from her fans and followers.
The list included Apple devices, diapers, and money.
However, the list was met with reactions from netizens, with many bashing her for her excessive demands while others accused her of seeking unnecessary attention.
These critiques did not go down well with Asantewaa, who later took to her social media handle to defend her requests.
According to her, she can afford everything on her wishlist but still prefers to receive gifts from others.
She added that there was nothing wrong with a wishlist, even if the person had money to buy the items listed.
"Me posting a wishlist does not mean I am begging or in need, it means I am giving people the opportunity to show me love. There are a lot of people dying to show me love. I can afford everything on my wishlist and that does not mean I should do everything by myself," she stated.
