As part of Ghana’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, the University of Ghana, in collaboration with the World Bank and other partners, have the pleasure of inviting you to our maiden Hilife Fiesta, dubbed ‘Time for Highlife’. This event is a means of promoting ‘Hilife Music’ during this jubilee celebration season and beyond.
The event is scheduled to take place on Friday April 13, 2007 at the Forecourt of the Great Hall University of Ghana and is expected to attract members of the University community, Alumni and friends of the Legon.
The programme aims at bringing renowned Highlifers including: the Ramblers Band, Ebo Taylor, Gyedu Blay Ambolley Jewel Ackah C.K Mann among others. They will be supported by the Pop Ensemble, Palm Wine Band (The Local Dimension), Music Department’s Brass band, Sparkles and many more.
The vision of the organizers is to stage four events, during this Jubilee Year, (January 2007 – January 2008) to rejuvenate the role of highlife music in the development of our nation. The University also intends to make this a major tourist attraction in Ghana, together with our media partners.
The partners are committed to making this a cornerstone event and need the support and would like to invite you to the dancing floor.
So put on your dancing shoes and come to the forecourt of the Great Hall of University of Ghana.
Remember it starts at 5:00pm and admission is Frrrreeeeee!!!!
