Tamale is fast becoming the haven of entertainment with a dash of culture in the savanna of Ghana. Innovations spearheaded by the different event organizing bodies are increasingly proving to be a panacea to solving the major problem of artistic breakthrough.
Northern Vision Entertainment has dared to stand tall in this regard despite the hostilities of operating in a seemingly unfriendly terrain.
The NMA (Northern Music Awards) is one of the major events that Northern Vision Entertainment continues to use in driving and maximizing the socio-economic benefits of music made in the savanna.
Though it is just in it’s second year, it is arguably the most notable of award schemes in and around the Tamale area, this could be as a result of the will to put in the work and financial investment to ensure the relevance of the NMA is sustained, maximized and beneficial to artistes who have worked hard within the year under review.
Several Award schemes have been fraught with controversies, but the NMA which typical does a wide consultation with stakeholders and very experienced people to fully involve all who deserve to be celebrated believes the modus operandi is what sets them apart from all other award schemes.
This year’s event is however expected to outweigh the previous because two of Tamale’s finest yet biggest rivals will for the first time mount the same stage and use artistry to prove who is supreme. Several mishaps have occurred in recent months as a result of the rivalry between Fancy Gadam and Maccasio.
Will they smoke the peace pipe or will they go Shatta Wale and Samini on us? Aside Fancy Gadam & Maccasio, the superiority of other artistes in their chosen genres will be brought to bare. This is because only the crème de la crème of artistes have been drawn from all three savanna regions, to come bless the stage with their unique art.
Soorebia will be representing the Upper East Region and will bring #BBT on stage to give you an experience of the Bolga side of Hiphop. Ras Bandingu will bring the entire Upper West Region to the auditorium with amazing hi-life fused with reggae and dance steps that will remain printed in the minds of the audience. The AMG boss Criss Waddle together with Medikal the new kid on the block, and the entire AMG Crew will also be present to liven and add a Tema swag to this musically charged event.
If you think the above performances will be the only “music meal” served that night then you got it wrong. All artistes nominated in the artiste of the year category will each take turns to wow the crowd and prove they are indeed “Artiste of The Year”.

The main event which will take place on the 4th of June at the Radach Lodge & Conference Center will be preceded by a free show dubbed “Nominees Jam” on the 27th of May at the Tamale Jubilee Park, and a “Nominees Pool Party” at the Discovery Hotel in Tamale.
The main intent behind this award scheme is to honor artistes from the savanna belt of Ghana as well as an eventual inclusion of artistes from all over the world who are originally from the savanna of Ghana. This is believed to increase the value of artistes from the savanna of Ghana and help them breakthrough the mainstream music scene in Ghana and beyond.
