Ghana's self-proclaimed Queen of Music, Wendy Shay, has set the rumour mill spinning with a recent announcement made on her social media handle.
The songstress took to social media on May 15 to share news of her latest music video for the song 'Who Cares.'
However, her post raised the eyebrows of many of her fans and followers.
Wendy Shay stated that the new video would not premiere on the channels of her long-time label, Rufftown Records, adding that she's taking control of her content by launching her own exclusive channel.
"SHAYGANG, my new video will not be on Rufftown Records Channel. Follow me as I embark on a new journey and subscribe to my new YouTube account," she posted.
In another surprising twist, Wendy Shay deleted all Rufftown-related posts from her social media. A move many suggested was part of the rebranding effort.
These actions have led many netizens to question Wendy Shay’s current and future relationship with the label, which he has been with for six years.
So far, no clarification has been brought out by either Wendy Shay or Rufftown Records, as fans and industry watchers alike await an official statement.
