Top Musician To Preach For Peace

As the December Presidential and Parliamentary Elections draw closer, lots of well meaning, Ghanaians and institutions are doing all in their power to ensure free, fair and peaceful polls.

Indeed, owing to the not too healthy situation in the West African a sub-region due to the instability in countries such as Liberia, Sierra Leone and La Cote D'Ivoire, many patriots are apprehensive about the outcome of elections. Again some radio callers and news-paper articles seem to suggest that the forthcoming elections are likely to degenerate into chaos and anarchy if the result does not go a particular direction.

It is against this background that various bodies have embarked upon educational programme to sensitize Ghanaians on the need to ensure peace before, during and after the elections. As their contribution to this worthy cause, about 10 of the nation?s veteran and topmost highlife musicians have resolved to put a number of live peace concert shows all over the country, from now till December.

Some of the musicians who are expected to take part in these concerts to sensitize the populace in the need to promote and ensure peace including J.A. Adofo, Dr. Paa Bobo, Safohene Djeni, Papa Yaw Johnson, Abrekyieba, Kofi Sammy, among several others.

According to the organizers outspoken leaders of the various political parties would be invited to the musical shows to deliver messages bordering on peace to their followers and supporters. Keep reading for more.
