Come Friday, March 6, the Ghanaian music scene will once again witness another historic musical concert dubbed: ‘Freedom Concert’ at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The event, which forms part of activities lined up to climaxed the celebration of this year’s Ghana’s Independence Day, would witness performances from some selected Ghanaian hiplife artistes.
Put together by Reflects, Freedom Concert 2015 is aimed at bringing back the euphoria surrounding Ghana’s Independence Day celebration as witnessed on March 6, 1957 and would see the reenactment of the independence speech delivered by Ghana’s first president, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, and many other interesting activities.
Artistes lined up for the event include Sarkodie, renowned dancehall artistes Samini, Stonebwoy, Kaakie, Guru, award winning Kwabena Kwabena and many others.
According to the organisers, the night would be a memorable one with a show that is planned to recap the best of the nation’s musical history over the last decade, adding that it would showcase the golden songs of the hiplife era as well as the exciting collaborations and the big tunes of today.
