The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Elizabeth Ofosu Adjare, has told Starr Drive host Bola Ray that she has personally ensured that adequate preparations have been made to ensure the 2015 Paragliding Festival is a memorable one.
“…We are number ready for paragliding. Yesterday (Monday) I was there personally with some policemen, the regional minister, fire officers and my team from the ministry and its agencies to be sure that things are in order before I can invite people...I shouldn’t sit in Accra, get reports and think that everything is fine… I’ve actually gone there myself and we are ready,” she stated Tuesday.
The 10th edition of the festival which will take place at Kwahu Atibie in the Eastern region will create opportunities for dealers in arts and craft to showcase and sell their goods to both local and international tourists who would be part of the celebrations.
Running through the program outline on the Entertainment News segment on the Starr Drive, the minister said the four-day programme is scheduled for April 3 to April 6 2015, on the Odweanoma Mountain, Atibie, during the Easter festivities.
“I am inviting everybody with the exception of thieves and armed robbers”
She also stated the festival, which has been initiated as a national event is expected to rake in some foreign attention and rekindle investor interest as it would give the opportunity to non-Ghanaian patrons to visit many sites within the region and identify investment opportunities.
“15 different pilots from six countries: the United States of America (USA), Peru, France, Japan, Belgium, and Switzerland have confirmed their participation,” she added.
Four EIB network stations, Starr103.5 FM, Ultimate 106.9FM, Agoo 96.9FM and Kasapa 102.3FM have teamed up with the Ministry and many other sponsors, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, Tigo, Ernest Chemist, Everpure Purified Water, Mamavits Noodles and Rice, Mentos Fresh and Action Gum to bring the biggest party atmosphere with Amakye Dede, Kojo Antwi and Stonebwoy performing.
