Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has paid a courtesy call on the chiefs of Ga Traditional Council as part of preparation towards the ‘2015 Homofest’.

As part of measures to promote domestic tourism, the ministry last year launched ‘Homofest’ to create awareness among the indigenes, while promoting their food, artefacts, dance and music.

The festival is also part of the ministry’s ‘Explore Ghana’ project, which seeks to enhance the participation of the citizenry in the tourism, culture and creative arts sector.

The delegation which was led by Mrs Ofosu-Adjare and accompanied by the Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr Isaac Djangmah Vanderpuye, and the Deputy Minister of Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs, Mr Effah Baafi, was to formally inform the council of this year’s event and solicit their input and support.

The minister expressed gratitude to the chiefs for their support during the maiden edition, which was a success.

Vice Chairman of the Ga Traditional Council and La Mantse, Nii Kpobi Tettey Tsuru III, welcomed the idea from delegation and urged the minister to help develop the Dodowa forest since it is a potential tourist attraction site in the region.
