Farmer fined for biting off a colleague's right ear

Assin Foso(CR), Feb. 19, GNA - An Assin Fosu District Magistrate's court on Monday fined Kwame Nkrumah a farmer from Assin Endwa GH¢200 for biting off the right ear of Mr Kwaku Boamah also a farmer. Nkrumah convicted on his own plea would serve 18 months imprisonment in default. In addition, he was ordered to pay GH¢300 compensation to Mr Boamah for his medical bills. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Robert Essiam told the court presided over by Mr Joseph Blay that sometime in September last year, Nkrumah assaulted Boamah's younger sister, Madam Adjoa Obour. He said when Boamah tried to intervene Nkrumah assaulted him (Boamah) and in the process bit off his right ear.
