Multi-talented twin sisters Trysha and Patricia Dake, are individuals who have set themselves aside to use short entertaining documentaries to raise awareness on key social issues which need attention.
Their passion is to impact society with their short videos by mimicking real societal issues. According to Trysha and Patricia, there are many concerns in communities and the state as a whole but little or no attention is given to these pressing needs. The twins seek to throw light on these issues firstly for public awareness and secondly for the right authorities to take action.
"Motorway Wahala" is a skit by them and the concept is centered on the dangers and the safety precautions to take when on the motorway or any highway. Trysha and Patricia in this video tell the dangers people are exposed to on the Tema/Accra motorway.
They raised concerns about the increasing heavy vehicular traffic on our highways and the growing communities that develop around them without the corresponding infrastructural changes that allows them to safely cross and use the Tema motorway. Over the years and in recent times, many lives have been lost to road accidents on the motorway and our highways. Through this initiative, Trysha and Patricia are sensitizing motorist and pedestrian to take caution plying and crossing these roads.
Trysha and Patricia promise to continue to tackle issues of societal importance with creativity, humor and innovation.
They also remain committed to releasing periodic videos to give voice to topics which are not talked about in society. Watch out for their next video "No Train”.
Trysha and Patricia are foundation students of Lancaster University Ghana pursuing a program in Economic and International Relations.
