Twelve talented people compete to be "Mentors"

Accra April 3, GNA - Twelve talented people, made up of five ladies and seven gentlemen were selected out of more than 2,000 young people auditioned to participate in the television show dubbed "Mentor".

The twelve people aged between 21 and 25 have since been camped in a house in Accra to live together as brothers and sisters where they would be monitored with live video and audio recording cameras for viewers. Viewers of TV3, a private station, would upon live studio appearances vote out some participants leaving the best person as the real "Mentor".

Mr Syed Ahmad Zaidi, Chief Executive Officer of TV3, briefing the press about the show, said the programme was aimed at unearthing talents, expressing the hope that the show would be "the hottest reality TV show".

There would be three major prizes including a 20 million cedis; a record deal, free publicity on TV3, special guest on TV3 events and other souvenirs.

The second prize would include 10 million cedis cash, a fifty per cent record deal and other souvenirs while the third prize winner grabs five million cedis and other souvenirs.

Mr Zaidi said the "mentors" would be housed for 12 weeks during which they would be trained and groomed by their selected mentors, including seasoned musicians like Kojo Antwi, Obuor and Noble Nketiah.
