Accra, Feb 13, GNA - A Twin, who used forged West African Examination Council's (WAEC) General Certificate of Education, Ordinary Level, belonging to his brother to seek employment at WAEC, was put before Accra Circuit Court with his brother on Friday.
Seth Hammond and Samuel Hammond, who were charged with possessing and uttering forged documents, forgery and deceit of public officer, pleaded not guilty.
The Accra Circuit Court presided over by Mr Williwise Kyeremeh granted them 20 million cedis bail with a surety each to reappear on March 11. Prosecuting, Police Inspector Benette Sarfo said the Twins completed Holy Trinity Secondary School between 1991 and 1992 but they did not make high grades.
The Prosecution said on receipt of the Ordinary Level Certificate, Samuel, a Marketing Officer, scanned it and changed all the grades on the original certificate.
Inspector Sarfo said early this year Seth, who had applied for employment at WAEC was asked to produce his ordinary level certificate for consideration.
The Prosecution said on February 5, this year Seth presented the forged certificate bearing the name of his twin brother Samuel to WAEC. Inspector Sarfo said when WAEC verified the certificate it was found to be a fake and the accused was arrested.
The Prosecution said Samuel was subsequently arrested and he admitted having altered the grades on his original certificate.
