It is interesting how people would spend years in school struggling to get certificates only to realise later that their passion is in something different from what they learnt in school.

Ghanaian twin brothers Emmanuel and Samuel Appiah Gyan graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) but instead of securing jobs with their certificates, they chose to be photographers.

They started their photography career under a brand called SwagOfAfrica.

Having obtained degrees in Post-Harvest Technology and Landscape Architecture from KNUST, one would have thought that Emmanuel and Samuel Appiah Gyan would have been utilising their knowledge in the field of agriculture and environmental design respectively. However, the young men chose to venture into photography alongside blogging.

Back in school even before they graduated, the duo became popular as a result of a Twinsdntbeg brand which metamorphosed into SwagOfAfrica which is making waves globally now.

SwagOfAfrica is now the official photographer for the second lady of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs Samira Bawumia, among other top celebrities.

Emmanuel and Samuel Appiah Gyan recently represented Ghana at the NAACP Awards 2020 ceremony on 22 February 2020 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

Well, it is better to identify your aim even a year to your death than to not figure it out at all in your whole life, so it is not entirely worthless that they towed a different line in their educational journey before finally discovering themselves.
