Ball J (M) says unity between Stonebwoy (L) and Shatta Wale (R) would dull the music industry
Rapper and music producer, Ball J, has indicated that if the rivalry between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale had been quashed after both artistes hugged at the World Cup fundraising event, their careers would no longer be competitive.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM on March 28, 2026, Ball J noted that Stonebwoy was smart for granting an interview after the hugging incident and stated that, “even his late mother will kill him if he ever smiles with Shatta Wale.”
According to Ball J, those statements from Stonebwoy may have been a deliberate attempt to reintroduce some level of rivalry after the moment of reconciliation, which appeared to suggest the two artistes were on good terms.
“If the case is closed over there, they’ve hugged and they are now one, I don’t think their careers will be competitive again. So Stonebwoy is actually smart for saying that, unless he truly means what he said. If he does, I would not advocate for that kind of blessing.
"But if it’s because he knows that if they come together, what’s going to be the rivalry again, then I think Stonebwoy was trying to put some rivalry back into it so that, even after that, the beef continues,” he said.

The rapper further argued that if Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were to genuinely unite, the Ghanaian music industry would become dull, and there would be no competition.
However, he added that if Stonebwoy’s statements were made in earnest, then the matter should be resolved on a personal level between the two artistes.
“If they come together and there’s no war again, the industry will be very dull. But if Stonebwoy is serious about what he is saying, then I think that’s a personal issue he has to sort out with Shatta Wale,” he added.
The feud between the two dancehall artistes reached a bitter peak in 2018, when Stonebwoy alleged that Shatta Wale had accused him of being responsible for the death of his late mother, Catherine Satekla, who passed away in 2015, claims that Shatta Wale has since denied.
According to the BHIM Nation President, that accusation remains an unhealed wound, making any form of reconciliation with Shatta Wale difficult to imagine.
“So, looking at where things have gotten to at this point, if I start smiling or laughing with the person, even my mother’s ghost will kill me,” Stonebwoy said.
