Wa, Feb.5, GNA - Mr Ambrose Dery, Upper West Regional Minister on Sunday asked Ghanaians to be grateful to God despite what they consider to be problems facing the country, saying they should instead rise up to the task of nation building.
He appealed to all Ghanaians, irrespective of their political affiliations to be imbued with patriotism and give of their best in order to move the nation forward.
Mr Dery made this call at a gospel music concert held at the Wa community centre on Sunday as part of activities marking the golden jubilee Ghana's independence.
A number of gospel music groups from the various churches in the Wa municipality took part in the event, organized by the regional branch of the Musicians Union of Ghana and the regional planning committee of =91Ghana@50'.
Mr Dery asked Ghanaians to regard the election of President J.A. Kufuor as Chairman of the African Union, as an opportunity once again for Ghana to play a pivotal role in shaping the policies and goals of the continent.
