Public Relations Officer of Charter House, organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Robert Klah has hinted that his outfit has not considered putting Shatta Wale on the performance lists during the awards gala.

Shatta Wale is reported to have said he will be willing to perform at the event despite serving a suspension following his altercation with Stonebwoy at the same concert last year.

According to self-acclaimed Dancehall King, he is a businessman so if the organizers call him to come and perform at the award’s night, he will gladly respond to their call.

Responding to this on Live FM’s Showbiz Live, Klah said that they mostly considered an artist who has been nominated to perform during the events.

“For each of the shows we work in phases and one of the first things we usually do is that most of the people we use are artists who have been nominated. When we say nominees jam, it is for the nominee but I can say that we haven’t gotten to that point so I can’t say that they (Stonebwoy & Shatta) will be a factor in the performance list, “he told Caleb Nii Boye on Live FM.

Background

Shatta Wale and Stonebowy have been banned from the VGMA awards scheme indefinitely after an altercation broke out between the two musicians at the 20th edition of the awards gala in 2019.

The incident saw Stonebwoy pull out a gun on stage which marred the event and attracted bad publicity from both local and international media.

The bad press prompted Charter House to suspend the two dancehall artists from the awards scheme.
