VGMA nominations to be released via social media on hourly basis; starts @ 12pm today

The release of nominations for this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is getting yet another facelift – this time, the nominations would not be announced exclusively via any media house.

As monitored by www.entertainmentgh.com, spokesperson for the VGMA Board, Nii Ayite Hammond told KMJ on Hitz FM that, the nominations would be released on the official website of the awards as well as the social media pages of the scheme.

They would also be released on the social media platforms of the organizers, Charterhouse Ghana Ltd.

He also stated that, the announcement would commence at midday and categories would be released every hour until 7pm where the three (3) top categories would be announced at a gathering at Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel.

Another key activity that would happen at tonight’s gathering is the unveiling of the nominees for this year’s ‘Unsung’ competition.

When queried if the release won’t be done via any media house, Nii Ayite responded that, he is not sure about that development, but talks are on-going in that regard.

Last year, there was some uproar when the nominees list was released exclusively on EIB Network.

That episode took a lot excitement away from one activity of the awards that is highly-anticipated and filled with lots of fun.
