VGMAs no longer credible – Kwaw Kese

Awards all over the world have been very political and in as much as many artists have been vociferous about them, nothing seems to change.

The man insane, Kwaw Kese is no exception to the vociferous ones and has described the biggest music awards in Ghana, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards as no more legitimate.

The musician who co hosted the mid morning radio show on the Y Triangle (Y97.9FM, Y102.5FM and Y107.9FM) on Easter Monday explained the awards show has over the years lost its relevance hence his posture and decision to wheel his previously won awards as sold items to the 18th edition of the awards held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

“I don’t need to tell you. You saw what happened on the night. They gave awards to people who didn’t really deserve and everyone is talking.”

This year’s awards show like the previous ones have suffered backlash since the release of the nominee's list till after the awards show.

Kwaw Kese attended this year’s edition of the awards with his previously won awards in a wheelbarrow with an inscription, “Awards For Sale“.

Kwaw Kese has however advised the organizers to sit up.

Kwaw Kese was crowned Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artist of the year in 2008 and has also received several nominations.
