Whilst some musicians are busily fighting to take home at least a plague or more after Ghana Music Awards, singer Adina thinks getting nominations at the annual award is cool for her.

The Afropop singer in a conversation with Hitz FM’s Mzgee opined that being nominated for the biggest music awards in the country without winning any is a big deal for her because it is not easy to be remembered out of the countless musicians in the country.

To her, she does not cry when she wins nothing on the night of the awards because she benefits a lot just for being nominated for the awards. When listing some of the privileges that come with Ghana Music Awards nominations, she told Mzgee “it gives me a chance to attend the event”.

“Getting a nomination is a win for me. If I do get an award, it’s an icing on the cake. I get excited when I get nominated because it gives me a chance to attend the event and this is me thinking on a business side.

As an artiste, you get free PR because they play your songs on the stations that are partnering with the organisers. You get red carpet experience.

As an artiste you always want to be in the news so that people will talk about you all the time” Adina said.

Adina had three nominations at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards; namely Record of the Year, Afropop Song of the Year and Best Female Vocalist of Year but she walked home with none.

Adina Thembi Ndamse won Stars Of The Future music talent show in 2008. She is best remembered for songs like “Let Me Go”, “Coastal Vibes” and many others.
